A message from the Principal, Mrs Woodroofe

In 2018 The Grammar School at Leeds celebrates its 10th birthday. It is one of the UK’s leading independent, co-educational schools which was created through the merger of Leeds Grammar School and Leeds Girls’ High School in 2008. The Grammar School at Leeds has built on the long and proud history of its founding schools which can be traced back to 1552.

We are committed to caring for our pupils as well as educating them. Our aim is to help them develop their individual abilities and talents within an ethic of teamwork, friendship and mutual respect.

We teach with pleasure and our pupils learn with enjoyment. That essentially sums up our mission. How well we accomplish it depends on much more than just excellent exam results. Our satisfaction lies in guiding children and young adults to become, quite simply, the best of their generation.

“The school meets most successfully its aim to produce young people capable of high achievement.”
