Fab fourteen celebrate three or more A*s at A-level

Fourteen A-level students at The Grammar School at Leeds (GSAL) are celebrating a clean sweep of three or more A*s with 63 per cent of the cohort achieving a minimum of ABB grades – the entry requirement of leading universities.

Of the 14 who gained the top grade, three students achieved four A*s and a further 11 achieved three A*s.

  • 18 per cent – almost a fifth of this year’s grades – were passes at A*
  • 55 per cent of grades are A*and A
  • 82 per cent of grades are A* to B
  • 10 Oxbridge places are confirmed (including one 2015 leaver)

Principal Sue Woodroofe said: “These are tremendous results and we are very proud of every one of our students. A-levels continue to be a hallmark of excellence around the world and, in achieving so well at this stage, we know that our students will go on to continued success at university and beyond. We send them our sincere congratulations along with our very best wishes for the future.”
