Academic
GSAL provides an outstanding range of academic facilities across all age groups. Being purpose-built, the Alwoodley campus benefits from spacious, airy and bright classrooms.
There is a constant programme of improvements and developments going on across the school, for example, we have recently refurbished all the senior school common rooms and developed our IT infrastructure to support the growing demands placed on us all by an increasingly technical world.
GSAL Primary has its own dedicated facilities, including two libraries, sports hall and playing fields alongside specialist teaching rooms for subjects such as art, music and science. Both primary and senior school benefit from being able to ‘borrow’ on the facilities and resources of each other.
In senior school our academic facilities come into their own, these include:
- 1000 sq m library for senior school pupils with over 65,000 resources
- 8 dedicated IT rooms plus additional rooms in various subject areas
- 4 fully equipped food technology rooms
- 16 science laboratories
- Self-contained sixth form centre with IT study room, careers centre, café and gardens
- Art and design centre with 426sq m DT workshop
- 8 language laboratories
