We are excellent… that’s the verdict of the Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI) which has awarded The Grammar School at Leeds full marks for excellence.
The inspection, which covered both Junior and Senior School, was the first since the merger three years ago which created one of the biggest independent co-educational schools in the country.
GSAL was assessed on eight main areas of its provision – including quality of education, welfare and development of pupils and teaching standards – and was judged 100 per cent excellent across the board.

Pupils at Rose Court know what outstanding means! For the word has been used to describe their school by the Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI).
Our nursery and pre-prep school was judged to be outstanding in all aspects of its provision of education for children aged three to seven. This is the highest rating that the ISI gives when assessing early years foundation stage (EYFS) teaching.
Rose Court was assessed on four main areas of its EYFS teaching – provision of the programme; the effectiveness of its leadership and management of the programme; the quality of the provision; and outcomes for the children – receiving the highest accolade in each.
