Promising tennis players Georgia Craven (pictured) and Jonathan Gray have been signed up to a national support programme to help them progress in the sport.
Both students have been recruited to the AEGON FurtureStars Programme which identifies and nurtures talented young tennis players.
Y11 student Georgia, aged 16, who is currently ranked No 1 in women’s U18 tennis in Great Britain, plays two years ahead of her age group. She is currently the U18 AEGON Winter National Tour finals champion for 2011.
Jonathan (13), who is in Y9, plays in the U14s and is ranked No 4 in Yorkshire. He has been selected to play for England and Great Britain and has also reached the quarter final stages of two European competitions.
The scheme run by AEGON offers the youngsters coaching by the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA), as well as help with funding.
