Talented rugby player Jack Wafer has his eye on a place in the England U18 squad next year after a successful season playing for both U17s and U18s.

A lower sixth student at The Grammar School at Leeds (GSAL), Jack has been an ever-present member of the Yorkshire Carnegie U18 Academy side that has played in the Premier Rugby Academy League fixtures since December. Although a year young, Jack has excelled whilst playing against the very best U18 rugby players in the country, leading to his selection for England U17.

Jack made his England debut for England U18A v Italy U18, losing 5-17, then representing England U17 in their victory over France U17 19-17. He will now train with the Carnegie Senior Academy over the summer, in search of selection for England U18s next season.

Several other GSAL students have been busy playing for a number of age-group representative sides over the past few months.

Harrison Emmett-Lee, Mason Potter, Matthew Wright, Jack Pogson and Charlie Hollingworth have been members of Yorkshire Carnegie U16 Elite Rugby Development Player Pathway (ERDPP) this season, with Harrison and Jack also representing Yorkshire U16s in their successful county programme.

Daniel Lancaster, Ben Sugars, Jordan Okingo and Frank Price represented Yorkshire Carnegie U15s in the Northern Festival at Kingston Park, Newcastle, playing against Sale Sharks and Newcastle Falcons. Daniel was then selected to attend a two-day training camp with the North Academies U15s, led by England U18 Head Coach John Fletcher. He, along with Ben and Jordan, will join the Yorkshire Carnegie U16 Junior Development Squad.

Finally, George Grafton, Cameron Briggs, Dara Madden, Joshua Borlant and Sonny Wade have all been selected to join the Yorkshire Carnegie U15 ERDPP, having performed well at the U14 ERDPP Festival.

Many congratulations to all of these GSAL rugby players on their outstanding achievements.
