We're With You All The Way!
Our Senior School takes 11 year-old children and shapes them into capable, confident and responsible young adults. We place the academic curriculum at the heart of our education, yet we also offer extensive opportunities for all-round development.
The school is large enough to offer a wide range of activities, to support specialist teaching, and to provide an unusual degree of flexibility and choice within the curriculum. Yet the system of pastoral care encourages intimacy and a sense of belonging, through an active and robust House system and a large team of tutors and Heads of Year.
We combine the best of single-sex education with the benefits of co-education. Between the ages of 11 and 16, boys and girls are taught separately for their academic studies, although pastoral groups, assemblies, relaxation and most extra-curricular activities remain wholly co-educational.
This enables us to adapt our teaching styles and subject content to the particular needs of boys and girls during adolescence, the period of life when gender differences in attitudes to work, and approaches to learning, are most pronounced. At the same time, it enables pupils to mix freely in all other activities.
