A new home for Rose Court

A new home for Rose Court

Plans are under discussion to move Rose Court from Headingley to Alwoodley Gates, the main campus of The Grammar School at Leeds (GSAL) with effect from September 2020.

The vision for GSAL shared by our Principal, Mrs Sue Woodroofe, and the GSAL Board of Governors is to provide an outstanding education from nursery to sixth form, with all pupils on a single site as part of a whole school community.

Bringing Rose Court pupils and staff to Alwoodley will create a unified primary phase, ensure the very youngest children enjoy an educational environment specially designed for their needs and ease the transition for pupils between the different learning phases. Pupils of all ages will have access to the superb facilities that our purpose-built campus has to offer.

Our proposal

We would like to see Rose Court, Headingley, in use by another education provider, and to develop accommodation at our Alwoodley Gates site for pupils in nursery to Year 2.

We have already secured permission from Leeds City Council for adaptations to the junior and senior school buildings, which will provide classrooms for pupils in Years 1 and 2, and are considering a range of proposals for creating age appropriate learning space for the nursery and reception classes.

We aim for the relocation of Rose Court to Alwoodley Gates to take place during the summer of 2020, ready for the new term in September 2020.

If you have any queries concerning the relocation proposal for Rose Court please email enquiries@gsal.org.uk in the first instance.
