Pupils arrive in style for the new term

Thursday 6 September 2012

There’s a new look to the school run at The Grammar School at Leeds (GSAL) this academic year, thanks to a new partnership between the school and Tockwith transport firm Arrive in Style

A fleet of comfortable modern coaches will serve a 25 mile radius around the school’s Alwoodley Gates campus offering extensive coverage across Leeds, West and North Yorkshire. All vehicles have seatbelts fitted to every seat and are driven by fully trained professional drivers with enhanced CRB clearance.

11 routes are available morning and afternoon, plus a shuttle bus to take the youngest pupils to Rose Court in Headingley. Late buses serve five routes in the evening for pupils participating in after school activities. Arrive in Style will also meet GSAL’s ad hoc transport needs for school trips.

This comprehensive service was the deciding factor in the selection of Arrive in Style as GSAL’s new transport partner. Director of Estates Paul Womersley said, “To enhance our transport provision we needed a single company that could fulfil all our transport needs and Arrive in Style have the team and fleet in place to do that.

“With around 2,200 pupils travelling daily to and from school, the bus service is a valuable option for families and enables us to reduce traffic congestion on and around our site. The new service offers increased capacity and allows us to develop our routes to reach more homes within our catchment area.”

Dale Askham, Director of Arrive in Style, said, “We are delighted to bring our company values of service, reliability and cost-effectiveness to our newly formed partnership with the Grammar School at Leeds.”
