Who is it for

Teachers who want some interesting ways of creating an inclusive classroom to support learners with SEN effectively.

Brief synopsis of workshop:

Ever feel stuck between a rock and a hard place? Constantly constricted by time, but want to do the right thing for the children that you teach? This session aims to equip you with a toolbox of speedy tips, ideas and resources to promote positive engagement and progress for students who grapple daily with special educational needs.

What you will get out of it:

Quick tips and bright ideas – a renewed optimism and vigour for supporting SEN learners effectively in a mainstream classroom.

Profile of facilitator:

Kat has been teaching English for seven years, across Nottingham, Leeds and Bradford. Driven through her work as a respite foster carer, she is a qualified SENDCo, Designated Safeguarding Lead, and Specialist Teacher (currently undertaking a Masters, which has focused on her specialist teaching qualification – specific learning difficulties and Dyslexia). Kat currently works at Appleton Academy in Bradford, where her role as Director: English, SEN and Learning support spans the 3-18 school. She also holds the NPQSL qualification, and works as a Specialist Leader of Education (SLE) for the Exceed Teaching School Alliance driving improvement in both Inclusion and English.
