Brief synopsis of workshop

The session will explore – with some active participation – how using dual coding can support students in becoming independent analytical thinkers. It will investigate how the use of graphic organisers and other forms of visual expression can motivate and develop young learners, with a particular focus on developing analytical expression.

What you will get out of it:

Confidence in using visual materials and approaches more effectively in your teaching.

Profile of facilitator:

Caroline Mortlock has run four very different English departments and led on Teaching and Learning in a number of schools. She has never been able to avoid doodling during important meetings but is now delighting in making drawing and diagramming a central part of her teaching.
