Working scientifically – developing students experimental skills

Science teachers

Brief synopsis of workshop :

The changes to how GCSE science is assessed mean that our students need to be more skilled in applying the scientific model to devise practical methods to answer hypotheses. This workshop aims to give you a clear approach to develop these skills in students.

What you will get out of it

Practical, differentiated teaching approaches to develop your students’ experimental skills in line with the new GCSE requirements.

Profile of facilitator

I have been a secondary Science teacher for 14 years teaching across the ability and age range. I am currently an Aspiring Lead Practitioner of Science at Grange Technology College. My role is to work as part of the teaching and learning team to drive standards of teaching both within the Science department and across the school and I regularly take a lead in both departmental and whole school CPD.
