Workshop facilitator

Jill Berry

Name of Workshop

The joy and challenge of leadership at all levels

Who is it for

Serving and aspiring leaders – whether at middle leadership, senior leadership or headship level

Brief synopsis of workshop :

The session will explore what makes leadership demanding, and specific strategies leaders can use to address its main challenges. It will also consider what makes leadership joyful, and how fulfilling our leadership potential can be a hugely satisfying and rewarding professional experience.  How does leadership enable you to make a positive difference to the lives of children, and of adults, and why might someone want to be led by you?

What you will get out of it:

I hope the session will motivate participants and encourage them to feel positive about their leadership potential. It will also offer practical strategies for how to be the most effective leaders we can be, and opportunities to reflect on where we are on the journey to being the leader we dream of being.

Profile of facilitator:

Jill taught in six different schools, state and independent, over a thirty-year period. Since 2010 she has completed a doctorate, researching the transition from deputy to head, and has written a book on the subject: ‘Making the leap’.  She also now works as a leadership consultant and education commentator.  She is a strong advocate for the power of Twitter and blogging for networking and professional development.
