Name of Workshop

Autonomy through automation: how a whole-school approach to classroom routines frees teachers to teach.

Who is it for

School leaders and classroom teachers will benefit from the approaches shared in this session.

Brief synopsis of workshop :

Whether by accident or design, teachers often develop their own classroom routines. Some may work, some may not. But when they are all different, students are faced with inconsistency, which can lead to poor behaviour and less effective lessons. In this session we will explore how a whole-school approach to shared classroom language and routines leads not to robotic, identikit teaching, but frees up teachers to do what they do best: teach.

What you will get out of it

We will share how a routines driven approach has worked effectively at Dixons Kings Academy and how this approach can apply to your own context.
