Why study Spanish?
Language is used in so many situations, whether at work, when travelling or just casually in day-to-day life. We live in a multilingual global society, where speaking a foreign language will give you a vital competitive edge.
Linguists are trained to think analytically, to pay attention to detail and to present ideas in a logical fashion, whether in formal presentations, group discussions or in writing.
Languages equip students with the confidence and skills to succeed in a wide range of situations.
What our students say
“Hispanic culture is vibrant and quite different to ours in northern Europe. This is what makes it so fascinating and attractive!”
“The teachers treat you more as an adult, giving you more freedom to set the learning agenda. Lessons are relaxed and really enjoyable.”
“There are loads of enrichment opportunities such as Tertulia, our intellectual group which meets after school once per half term. Sometimes an outside speaker comes in and other times it is led by a teacher or pupil. This can be great practice for university interviews!”
