In September 2020, pupils will be moving from Rose Court to Alwoodley Gates meaning for the first time in the school’s history all pupils, aged 3 to 18 will be on the same site. We will commemorating the move and saying farewell to Rose Court and the building that was formerly known as Ford House through a series of events for alumni, former and current staff, pupils and their families in the summer term.
There will be two such events for alumni – an open afternoon on Friday 15 May and an alumni lunch on Saturday 16 May.
Farewell to Rose Court Open Afternoon for alumni
LGHS and GSAL alumni are invited to an open afternoon on Friday 15 May at 2pm – 4pm. Alumni can enjoy a tour of the school with our Year 2 pupils and see the school in action on a normal school day. There will be an art exhibition created by Rose Court pupils which showcases the story behind the building from the time it was built as two semi-detached residences known as Buckingham Villas in 1886. In addition, our school archivists are compiling a archive display of the history of Leeds’ Girls High School and later GSAL at the school. Refreshments will be served in the school hall from 3pm.
Request for old photographs
