Oliver! – last performance, new date and time

March 9 @ 09:30 - 11:30

Cancelled – Thursday 8 March
Rescheduled – Friday 9 March, 9.30am

As many of you will already be aware, this evening’s performance of ‘Oliver!’ has had to be cancelled due to this morning’s adverse weather conditions.

We know that many will be disappointed by this announcement, and consequently the school have decided to stage a special performance of ‘Oliver!’ tomorrow morning, Friday 9 March, in the Assembly Hall, starting at 9.30am. Ticket holders for tonight, as well as any other parents of cast and crew members, are more than welcome to attend this morning performance, immediately after which the Assembly Hall set will need to be dismantled in readiness for exams on Monday.

Oliver! Based on Charles Dickens’ book, Oliver Twist, with music and lyrics by Lionel Bart.

The Grammar School at Leeds proudly present their very own gritty version of this outstanding musical. One of the most beloved British musicals, it vividly brings to life Dickens’ timeless characters with its ever-popular story of the boy who asked for more.

9-year-old orphan Oliver Twist falls in with a group of street-urchin pickpockets led by the Artful Dodger and masterminded by the criminal Fagin. When Oliver’s intended mark, Mr Brownlow, takes pity on the lad and offers him a home, Fagin’s henchman Bill Sikes plots to kidnap the boy to keep him from talking.

A fantastic cast of actors and musicians will take you back to Victorian England and includes all the songs we know and love.
