The Grammar School at Leeds has received two awards from the 2011 Good Schools Guide in recognition of its A level successes.
GSAL won the prestigious awards for the best point score at an English independent school for girls taking computer studies/computing at A level, and for boys taking critical thinking at AS level.
The aim of the awards is to highlight excellent teaching in individual subjects and is based on performance table results for the last three years 2008, 2009 and 2010.
In particular, the Good Schools Guide presents the awards on the basis of the popularity of each subject relative to similar schools, and of the success that pupils achieve relative to the other examinations that they take.
The two accolades come hard on the heels of a first class inspection report from the Independent Schools Inspectorate which rated GSAL excellent in all areas of its provision.
Principal Mike Gibbons said: “This is great recognition of our academic ability from an impartial organisation and is a credit to the hard work and dedication of our teaching staff and students.”
