North Independent Secondary School of the Year 2020 North Independent Secondary School of the Year 2021

What to expect

Developing skills and talents

From the very first day the learning focus is on language, literacy and numeracy skills, helping children to speak clearly and listen well. This aids understanding and encourages kind, considerate behaviour which is central to our school ethos. The emphasis on traditional skills continues as children progress through the primary years.

Our experienced, caring teachers deliver a stimulating curriculum, fostering enthusiastic learners who enjoy coming to school and doing their best.

Pupils move to each new learning phase with confidence, thanks to a number of carefully planned transition activities, their familiarity with the wider school community and the stability of remaining with many of their friends throughout their school lives. Being part of an all-through school offers numerous opportunities including access to specialist teaching and facilities from a young age, an enhanced co-curricular offering where every child can try out new things or pursue their passions, and interaction between age groups through pupil mentoring and school activities. These all contribute to your child developing their own unique skills and talents to become a confident and happy member of our school community.

Our primary school provides the perfect educational setting including:

  • Vibrant and exciting contemporary classrooms
  • New outdoor learning and play areas
  • A purposeful and productive atmosphere for quality learning
  • Excellent facilities including, specialist library provision, art and DT suite and dance and drama studio
  • Dedicated dining area for Nursery to Year 2 children
  • A wide range of co-curricular clubs and activities
  • Enrichment days and trips and visits to enhance the curriculum
