Super sixteen scoop at least 10 A*s each at GCSE

One student notched up an amazing 11 A* grades while a fantastic 15 students have scooped 10 A* passes at GCSE in this year’s examinations at The Grammar School at Leeds (GSAL).

Of a cohort of 240 students at GSAL this year, 71 students notched up 10 or more GCSEs at A*-A. 88 per cent achieved passes at A*-B and 97 per cent achieved passes at A*-C in the core subjects of English and maths.

Principal Mike Gibbons said: “We are delighted with this year’s strong set of results, particularly in the context of the changes that have been introduced to the GCSE exams which affected this cohort.

“Our students continue to perform well and we congratulate them on their success, which is testament to their hard work, commitment and enthusiasm.”
