Applying to GSAL

It is a simple process to apply for a place at The Grammar School at Leeds and for most, generally starts a year in advance of the date they wish their child to join.

  1. During the Autumn term we hold a number of open events which prospective parents and children are encouraged to attend.
  2. Parents must then apply for their child to sit our entrance assessment using the online application form. The deadline for applications is 30 November prior to the September they are wishing to join. There is a £50 non-refundable application fee to pay at this time.
  3. In early December registered parents will receive notification of the arrangements for the entrance assessments, usually held on the second to last Friday in January for Senior School and Rose Court and the Thursday for Junior School.
  4. Results will be sent out within two weeks and parents are asked to confirm their decision by early March.

For mid-year joiners or applications outside of this cycle, the process is much the same although the timescales are usually condensed.
