There were plenty of cheers, chants, jumps and yellow pom-poms when Y6 girls learned cheerleading skills…from the experts!
Four cheerleaders from the Leeds Rhinos and Carnegie rugby teams’ squad visited Junior School to teach the girls some exercises and put together a short routine.
Junior School teacher Victoria Kirkman, who had covered the topic with the pupils last term and taught them some basic skills, said: “The girls were so excited to work with some real cheerleaders. They had fantastic fun and learned some great new moves!”
Displaying their cheerleading skills are back (L-R) Rebekah Bernard and cheerleader Kelly Walker. Front (L-R) Vidya Javangula, Sarah Smith, Natasha Boyd and Carla Kay.
