Two talented 11-year-old netball players have been handpicked to train and play with the Yorkshire U16 squad.
Alex Shipley (pictured left) and Imogen Abrahams, both pupils at the Junior School, will take part in training sessions and matches with the county’s elite…many of whom are four or five years older than they are.
The two girls were chosen when a netball scout visited the school and saw them play.
GSAL teacher Victoria Kirkman, who trains Alex and Imogen in the school netball team, said: “This is a remarkable achievement, and very well deserved. Both girls are exceptional netball players and dedicated to their sport. They train hard and have really earned this honour. ”
