Parents and Friends Association
Welcome from the chair
Hello and a very warm welcome to the school from all of us on the GSAL Parents and Friends Association (PFA) committee.
I’m Nisha Rickaby and I was lucky enough to be elected chair of the PFA committee in 2019. GSAL is a new, yet very important part of our family with two children in their early primary years. We’re proud that our children can attend this school with so many wonderful opportunities on offer to all pupils. I’m delighted to be in a position to continue the great work the PFA has done for many years under my predecessor Alex Keech.
While PFA fundraising helps to enhance school life and learning for our students, we are about much more than that. The PFA has been an integral part of the school community for many years, providing closer links between home and school and opportunities for GSAL parents, staff and friends to interact socially.
Our PFA is run entirely by volunteers, and we always welcome new faces and fresh ideas! None of the events we host would be possible without the kind and generous support of GSAL parents and staff.
So, whether your children are just starting in Rose Court, or joining the Sixth Form, please get in touch! We’d love to hear from you, whether you can take on an active role on the committee or help out on an ad hoc basis.
I look forward to meeting you!
Nisha
About the PFA
The Parents and Friends Association (PFA) is integral to the school community and every GSAL parent is automatically a member.
The PFA is run entirely by volunteers and all are welcome to get involved, whether as a committee member or on an ad hoc basis. As well as fundraising activities, the PFA organises social events for GSAL parents, staff and friends to enjoy together.
PFA fundraising makes a huge difference to all our pupils by providing additional resources and equipment for learning and leisure activities in school. In recent years the PFA has funded a tree house and trim trail for Rose Court, the spin studio and juice bar in Senior School, purchased equipment for the gardening club in Junior School and a projector for their hall, and much more.
The PFA also runs 2Kit, the nearly new uniform service, which has pop-up shops throughout the year with all dates advertised on our school uniform pages. Parents are invited to subscribe to the PFA’s 500 club, a monthly prize draw that raises funds for the school.
You can keep up to date with the PFA on Facebook and Twitter. To get in touch please email pfa@gsal.org.uk or speak to any of the committee members.
