As we reflect on a year like no other, one thing has remained constant – the kindness of our alumni community. We have been overwhelmed by the response to our bursary campaign in such difficult times, and are delighted that your support is enabling our programme to grow. We are also extremely grateful to everyone who has volunteered their time and talent and we look forward to sharing new initiatives with you very soon. Thank you for your kindness and for helping us grow the next generation of talented young people like Alex (GSAL15) and Jemma (GSAL17),just two of our bursary graduates.
Alex (pictured) joined GSAL in the sixth form where, he says, he found two passions which helped him grow in confidence – languages and the gym. He went on to study international management and French at the University of Bath. Jemma received a bursary to attend GSAL from year 7 through to the sixth form. She has graduated from Oxford and is currently doing a Master’s at University College London.
She said: “I know what a bursary has done for me and I hope driven and ambitious children in Leeds continue to get the same opportunity, early in life, to make the most of their potential.”
